About Dr. Fatter (she/her)
My Approach to Therapy
I honor the courage that it takes to begin therapy. If we were to work together, our therapy would involve focusing on how to relate to yourself differently, learning new skills, and learning ways to live a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
Our first few sessions are spent getting to know each other to make sure that I am the right fit to help you meet your goals and needs. We will collaboratively work together to best make an individualized plan for treatment.
I integrate a variety of approaches in therapy to best meet your unique needs and goals. I primarily use internal family systems (IFS) in my approach to therapy as a certified IFS therapist. If appropriate, I also use mindfulness-based interventions, cognitive-processing therapy (CPT), and eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). I am certified in EMDR and am an EMDRIA approved consultant in training.
I am a licensed psychologist in private practice in McKinney, Texas. Texas Psychologist License #36337. In total, I have over 10 years of experience providing therapeutic services in a variety of settings including university counseling centers, a hospital inpatient clinic, and outpatient clinics. I also teach webinars for tzkseminars to provide continuing education for therapists and psychologists worldwide. I have completed the Learning to Lead training by Challenging Racism to facilitate dialogues on racism and facilitate trainings on race socialization.
