consulting & consultation
Confidence for your most complex cases.
I have treated PTSD and complex trauma for twenty years, I have used EMDR since 2006, and I am an EMDRIA Approved Consultant.
Consultation is where you bring one real client and we work the case together. Clinicians come for certification hours, for help bringing the IFS model together with EMDR in their own practice, or because a case has stopped moving and they want another set of eyes on it. I also consult with organizations that provide mental health services, and with the AI companies building mental health products.

How I Consult
Where competence becomes confidence.
You bring the case. We look at what the client is showing you, what is getting in the way, and where to go next.
Individual consultation is a one hour session, booked one at a time, at $200 per hour. Group consultation runs an hour and a half to two hours. If you are not sure which of these fits, start with a short call and we will work it out.
EMDR Consultation
Consultation hours toward your EMDR certification.
EMDR Consultation
individual, toward EMDRIA certification
I am an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, so the individual hours I provide count toward EMDR certification through EMDRIA. We work with your real clients in your real setting, and we cover what EMDRIA requires as we go. Plenty of clinicians start before they have decided about certification, and that is a fine reason to start.
I also run EMDR consultation toward certification in a small group.
See Group Consultation below.
Strengthening Your EMDR Competency
individual, no credential required
Not everyone comes for the credential. Some clinicians want to get sharper with EMDR, some are working with complex trauma survivors for the first time, and some are running into backlash from clients and want help with it. Same consultation, different goal.
There is no minimum number of hours. Some clinicians meet with me once on a hard case, and others meet once a month, once a quarter, or as needed.

IFS/EMDR Integration Consultation
Bring the integration into your own practice.
IFS/EMDR Integration Consultation
individual
Consultation for clinicians bringing the IFS model together with EMDR in their own work, built around the cases where the two can be skillfully integrated based on the clinical needs of the client. This is the integration I wrote the book about, applied to your caseload rather than to an example. We look at where things are getting stuck, and how your client’s parts are showing up in their clinical presentation.
Integration consultation is about your clinical work, not a credential. It does not count toward EMDR certification through EMDRIA, or toward any certification in the IFS model. Bring cases.

Group Consultation
EMDR and IFS/EMDR integration group consultation, online.
Small groups of clinicians meeting online with case presentations and discussion. Sessions run an hour and a half to two hours.
EMDR Group Consultation
toward EMDRIA certification
A small group of clinicians working toward EMDR certification, bringing cases and learning from each other's. I am an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, so group hours can count toward certification within the limits EMDRIA sets. Check the current standards for how many of your hours can be group.
IFS/EMDR Integration Group Consultation
not toward certification
A small group of clinicians integrating the IFS model and EMDR. There are two ways to join.
A closed series of four. The same clinicians meet for all four sessions, so the group builds on itself from one session to the next.
Drop-in. Come when you have a case to bring, and pay as you go.
This group does not count toward EMDR or IFS certification.
You are not alone. Carrying a caseload of complex trauma is isolating work, and a group is one of the few places it stops being a solo problem.
Currently a waiting list for both groups.
Add your name and I will reach out when the next group opens.
Investment: Rates will be shared when the next group opens.

Consulting for Organizations
What your providers need to treat trauma well.
Every engagement is built around what you need, anywhere from a few hours a month to a defined project.
Program and clinical consultation for group practices, agencies, community mental health centers, college counseling centers, and military settings. We look at what your providers are running into with trauma cases, what is getting in their way, and what would help them have better treatment outcomes.

Consulting for AI Companies
A trauma-informed lens on what you are building.
I consult with AI companies building mental health products, so what reaches the user is trauma-informed and in line with ethical practice, clinical guidelines, and evidence-based practice in trauma treatment.
AI training data annotation
Labeling, tagging, and adding metadata to raw data so machine learning models learn to make better predictions that are trauma-informed.
Clinical content and design consultation
Advising on clinical content and on the design of your mental health offerings, so they engage users and attune to what users need.
Editing and fact-checking
Copy editing, developmental editing, proofreading, and fact-checking the mental health content delivered on your platform.
Frequently Asked Questions
Questions I get asked the most.
If your question is not answered here, please send it along with your inquiry.
Are you an EMDRIA Approved Consultant?
Yes. I am EMDR certified and an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, and you can verify my credential through EMDRIA directly.
How many consultation hours do I need for EMDR certification?
EMDRIA sets those requirements and updates them, so check the current standards on the EMDRIA site. I track our hours and give you what you need for your application.
What is the difference between consultation and supervision?
Consultation is case-based professional development for clinicians. It is not supervision toward licensure, and I do not provide supervision hours for licensure.
Does integration consultation count toward certification?
No. EMDR consultation with me counts toward EMDR certification through EMDRIA. IFS/EMDR integration consultation, individual or group, does not. I practice independently and am not affiliated with or endorsed by the IFS Institute or Dr. Richard Schwartz, so any consultation offered through my private practice in Parts Work and/or the IFS model does not count toward any certification program. I also teach workshops and courses for PESI. If you are working toward an Evergreen certification, check the training description on PESI for what that program requires.
Do I need to be licensed to consult with you?
No. Most of the clinicians I consult with are licensed, but it is not a requirement. I do not provide supervision toward licensure, so if you are not yet licensed, I will ask whose license you are practicing under.
How long is a session?
Individual consultation is usually one hour, booked one at a time, with no package and no minimum. Group consultation runs an hour and a half to two hours.
Do you work with clinicians outside the US?
Yes. Consultation is held online, and I work with clinicians internationally.
Is group consultation open right now?
Group consultation is a waiting list at the moment. Reach out using my contact form to be added to the list.
How does an engagement with an organization start?
Reach out and tell me what your providers are running into, or what you are building. From there, I put together a scope for the engagement.
What does consultation cost?
Individual consultation is $200 per hour. Organizational consulting is scoped to the engagement. Group consultation rates will be shared when the next group opens.
How do I pay?
Direct bank transfer, check, credit card, or Zelle. For international organizations, Wise, PayPal, or direct bank transfer. I do not accept insurance.
